AERO Vodochody said it was transported to Brazil Monday aboard an Antonov An-124 Ruslan cargo plane.

Details on the date assembly of the rear fuselage was completed were not provided.

The KC-390 is a medium-sized aerial refueling and transport aircraft that is scheduled for introduction into service with the Brazilian Air Force in 2016.

The aircraft's first flight is scheduled for this year.

In addition to the rear fuselage, AERO Vodochody also is manufacturing cargo ramps, cabin doors and other components for the aircraft under a contract signed with Embraer in 2011.

Under that contract, the company is also responsible for the design and development of the aircraft's fixed wing edge.
