Nexter, DCI team for contracts

VERSAILLES, France, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- French defense industry firms Nexter Systems and Defense Conseil International are teaming to promote their joint contracting and sub-contracting capabilities.

The teaming for work to support French forces at6 home and abroad comes under a memorandum of understanding announced earlier this week by the chief executive officers of the companies.

"In keeping with our strong partnership policy, Nexter has sought to strengthen its offer with DCI and thus offer services that are more tailored to meet the needs of the (French) forces," said Philippe Burtin, chief executive officer Nexter Systems. "This agreement will allow us to propose comprehensive offers under the label of French excellence."

"We share a common vision with Nexter and all of its teams and we are confident in our approach: To provide, together, capability offers built around the duo of French operational and technological excellence", said Jean-Michel Palagos, DCI's chief executive officer. "I am sure that this unique approach will provide a more comprehensive and sustainable response to the expectations of our customers and gives a stronger meaning to the integrated offer."

The companies said their joint efforts will encourage joint projects built around Nexter systems, with DCI providing training, consultancy and operational assistance services. One area being explored is sub-contracting partnerships to reinforce with education and training tools the DCI structures that make up part of the country's military schools.
