Selex ES to work on Lockheed's NATO HQ project

LONDON, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Selex ES has joined a Lockheed Martin team to provide the Active Network Infrastructure network for NATO's new headquarters in Belgium.

Selex said that under a three-year agreement, it will implement secure communication services throughout the new NATO building in Brussels. Services will include wireless voice and data communication systems and IP television services for users' devices.

NATO staff and national delegations will be supported with state-of-the-art capabilities and will be allowed to use their preferred method of communication easily, reliably and securely, Selex said.

The Britain-based company will also provide expertise to help Lockheed with the security accreditation process in compliance with NATO criteria, provide the lead for testing of the overall infrastructure, and provide engineering and technical support.

Under the award, Selex's term of service can be extended for five additional years to cover operational and maintenance services.

Neither Selex ES nor Lockheed Martin disclosed the value of the contract.
