BETHPAGE, N.Y., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman has delivered its 100th airborne electronic attack kit for EA-18G Growlers to the U.S. Navy.
The kits, for use in attacks on complex communications and air defense systems, features wing tip pods, gun bay pallets, antennas and receivers. Its ALQ-218 antenna jamming system receiver allows for selective reactive jamming capability and accurate emitter identification, location and analysis, while its communication counter-measures set/electronic attack unit intercepts, processes and jams signals.
"This delivery milestone demonstrates the dedication of the Northrop Grumman team to the EA-18G Growler program," said Capt. Frank Morley, U.S. Navy F/A-18 and EA-18G program manager. "Every airborne electronic attack subsystem they have produced is of the highest quality, allowing us to stay ahead of current and evolving threats."
The EA-18G Growler is produced by Boeing, with Northrop Grumman providing its electronics. It became operational with the Navy and Marine Corps in 2009.

Components for the airborne electronic attack kits are produced at Northrop facilities in New York, Florida and Maryland.
