BAE systems gains place on Dept. of Homeland Security contract

ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- BAE Systems has won a prime contractor position on the Department of Homeland Security contract for IT systems, software and related services.

The contract is the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions II. BAE Systems is one of 15 companies to be awarded the contract, under which it will compete for task orders.

"Our expert team is offering innovative, cost-efficient IT solutions capable of addressing DHS's current and future challenges," said DeEtte Gray, president of BAE Systems' Intelligence & Security sector. "This award is further evidence of BAE Systems' position as an industry leader in systems integration, backed by trusted IT and cyber-security expertise."

Under the EAGLE II contract, BAE Systems will compete to provide a full range of services and solutions to develop, implement, and maintain technologies that directly support Department of Homeland Security's overall mission and daily business.

Work will include system and software design, development, implementation and integration, and maintenance services, the company said.
