Navy tech support contract awarded to Engility Holdings

CHANTILLY, Va., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- A $29.6 million contract to support to the U.S. Navy's aircraft launch and recovery equipment program has been given to Engility Holdings Inc.

The award was given by the Naval Air Warfare Aircraft Division, based in Lakehurst, N.J. It is a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract and covers all in-service engineering related to the ALRE program as well as systems engineering support on new and modernized ALRE and aviation support equipment systems.

"Our engineering teams have provided excellent service and the highest level of technical capability to the Navy's ALRE program," said Engility President and Chief Executive Officer Tony Smeraglinolo. "This contract award reflects the commitment and pride our people have in supporting naval aviation."

ALRE is the Navy's program for ensuring its carrier fleet has the most advanced systems for launching and capturing aircraft.

"This new contract ... will accommodate incumbent work from other contract vehicles and is also expected to create opportunities for additional work," the company said.
