GTA enhancing communications services to Navy

TAMUMING, Guam, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- The Navy has contracted a Guam-based communications company to expand services provided to the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command on the island.

Under the five-year, $5.1 million award, GTA will provide Blackberry and cellular phone wireless communication services in various locations to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Guam.

"Over the years, GTA has participated in federal bids to provide various communications services to the U.S. government," said Robert Haulbrook, president and chief executive officer at GTA. "Through this process we have been successful in securing multiple contracts. This recent federal award is the largest granted to GTA to date.

"With the announcement of this $5.1 million contract, we look forward to providing exceptional service and significant savings while filling their communications needs for the next five years."

GTA is a privately held company and leading seller of smartphones on Guam. It has invested more than $90 million on enhancements to its communications network since 2005.
