CAE gets new orders for simulator upgrades, training services

MONTREAL, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Canadian simulation system manufacturer CAE has announced more than $93 million in new orders for simulator upgrades and training services.

The orders from defense and security customers include development of an emergency management and crisis management center of excellence for Brunei's Ministry of Home Affairs, long-term training services and upgrading C-130 simulators for the U.S. Air Force.

"We are honored the CAE Brunei MPTC [multi-purpose training center] has been selected to provide long-term emergency management training to Brunei," said Gene Colabatistto, group president for defense and security. "This represents a major milestone in our strategy to leverage CAE's core capabilities beyond traditional defense in order to access more avenues for growth.

"Our systems integration experience combined with our expertise in simulation-based training allows us to create simulation centers that ultimately will improve operational decisionmaking."

CAE said its training services contract with Brunei is for 10 years.

Details on the other recent contracts were not given.
