SAIC earns Defense Logistics Agency recognition

MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- The Land and Marine section of the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has honored Science Applications International Corporation as a top supplier.

The Recognition for Excellence Bronze Award, presented in a special ceremony at the Defense Supply Center-Columbus installation, recognized Science Applications International Corporation for its performance on supply chain and logistics programs.

"It is truly an honor to receive an award based solely on our quality and delivery performance," said SAIC DLA Group Senior Vice President Linda Messano. "This award is a true testament to our employees' commitment to DLA and the mission."

To be eligible for the Recognition for Excellence award a company must have shipped 50 or more contract line items during a 12-month period. The firms that qualified were then measured by the Automated Best Value System, which collects a vendor's past performance data and translates it into a numeric score.

Out of a possible score of 100, SAIC scored between 98 and 98.9.
