SAIC gets spot on prime Navy contract

MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- SAIC is providing transport, computing and infrastructure support to the U.S. Navy through a prime indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The award, which is held separately by 13 other companies, was issued by the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic and is related to command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or C5ISR, systems and services.

It has a one-year period of performance with four one-year options. The total ceiling value is about $890 million.

"The scope of this contract covers the entire spectrum of services and solutions associated with the full-system life-cycle support for SSC Atlantic's networking and computing mission," said SAIC Navy and Marine Corps Customer Group Senior Vice President Tom Watson. "We look forward to continuing to provide C5ISR and IT capabilities to our customer."

SSC Atlantic designs, acquires, engineers and sustains systems, sensor connections, cyber network infrastructures and knowledge management services.

SAIC, or Science Applications International Corp., said task orders under the contract will be performed worldwide.
