Leidos tapped for future radiographic imaging systems

RESTON, Va., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A $49 million follow-on contract to produce future radiographic imaging systems for detecting explosive ordnance has been received by Leidos.

The single-award, firm-fixed-price contract was awarded by the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division.

"Leidos is proud to continue its leadership in support of the mission of the Warfare Center Division by meeting the security product needs of the Department of Defense," said John Fratamico, Leidos group general manager.

The Warfare Center Division focuses on the research, development, test, evaluation, in-service support, and disposal of energetics and energetic systems and provides information and technological solutions to detect, access, identify, disarm and dispose of explosive threats.

Leidos, formerly named Science Applications International Corp., changed its in September in connection with the spin-off of its former technical, engineering and enterprise information technology business.

Additional details of the award were not provided.
