NIZHNY TAGIL, Russia, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Russian military vehicle manufacturer UVZ Corp. is touting eight new products, including modernized T-72 tanks and a new infantry fighting vehicle.

The vehicles were displayed last week at Russia Arms Expo 2013 in Nizhny Tagil.

The primary product is the Tank Support Fighting Vehicle BMPT-72, dubbed the Terminator-2, which is an updated T-72 tank, and which comes in two variants.

The first comes with special protection equipment to counter radio-controlled mines and explosive devices in an urban combat environment.

The second is the modernized T-72 with the Arena-E active protection system, which provides protection from anti-tank weapons such as high-explosive anti-tank projectiles and anti-tank guided missiles.

UVZ said its new heavy wheeled infantry fighting vehicle, the ATOM, was co-developed with Renault Trucks Defense of France. It comes with a 57mm automatic gun turret.

Among other vehicles were a special fire truck, which was designed using systems of T-72 and T-80 tanks; a two-section crawler-transporter with a lift of 30 tons; and a 152mm self-propelled howitzer with a firing rate of as much as 10 rounds per minute.
