OTTAWA, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Security solutions company Allen-Vanguard said Monday it has sold its explosive ordnance disposal and crew survivability units to the SafariLand Group.

The company's ordnance disposal products include the MedEng bomb suit, bomb disposal robots and ancillary tools. Products of the crew survivability business unit consist of blast lessening and heat management products.

Terms of the all-cash transaction were not disclosed. The company said the transaction has allowed it to retire 100 percent of its outstanding third-party debt.

"The successful transaction announced today [Monday] follows from a strategic review of Allen-Vanguard's portfolio of products and services, which determined that its mature business lines would be attractive to a buyer," Allen-Vanguard said. "The company's mission remains focused on providing high value-add solutions in support of global counter-terrorism through its strategic electronic systems and counter-threat solutions business units, both of which will continue to operate under the Allen-Vanguard name."

Allen-Vanguard's electronic systems business specializes in jamming and electronic sensing, while its counter-threat solutions business provides specialized intelligence services, tools and training for counter-terrorism.

Allen-Vanguard has its corporate headquarters in Arlington, Va., and has operations in Canada and Britain. SafariLand has headquarters in Ontario, Calif., and Jacksonville, Fla.
