COLORADO SPRINGS, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has exercised a $20 million contract option for Lockheed Martin to continue support for the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
The option award, under the 2012 Integrated Space Command and Control (ISC2) program, was exercised by the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.
Under the option, Lockheed Martin will continue to support ISC2 space, air defense and missile warning missions, ensuring that data is seamlessly shared between those and other command-and-control systems vital to the defense of the country.
"We are proud to support our nation's missile warning mission," said Rob Smith, vice president for Space & Cyber at Lockheed Martin's Information Systems & Global Solutions. "We'll work with our customer to ensure that ISC2 remains the critical link in enabling geographically disparate commanders to monitor and assess multi-mission threats concurrently."
Lockheed Martin said its work for the NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado will be performed at multiple locations worldwide.
