EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- A $15 million U.S. Air Force task order has been given to Wyle to provide specialized system assurance and engineering product analyses.

The order was given from the U.S. Air Force's Life Cycle Management Center through its Engineering Directorate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Under the task order Wyle will provide engineering, airworthiness, system security and assurance, risk management and safety analyses in developing, implementing and executing product logistics, sustainment and acquisition strategies for weapon systems.

Wyle, an engineering company, said the award is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite -quantity vehicle "designed to assist the research, development, acquisition, test and evaluation community" but did not disclose its period of performance. It was awarded under the Defense Technical Information Center's Reliability Information Analysis Center contract.

"Wyle was selected due to its extensive reputation for thorough and independent analysis, and testing capabilities," said Gary Konnert, Wyle's program lead.

Company sub-contractors for the task order include MTSI of Virginia.
