Cassidian offers CT scanners with mobile field hospitals

MUNICH, Germany, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Mobile field hospitals from Cassidian of Germany are available with deployable CT (computer tomograph) scanners.

The Ingenuity scanners are from Philips Healthcare, a member of the Philips group, which has headquarters in the Netherlands and the United States.

"Due to cooperation with Philips Healthcare, Cassidian can offer the only high performance CT deployable solution for fast scans with high-image quality and low-dose capabilities, providing the most effective metal artifact reduction available," Cassidian said. "With the fully integrated Philips Ingenuity CT scanner a safe diagnosis is even possible with bullet wounds or metal implants, which otherwise would cause artifacts in the images and not allow a proper diagnosis."

Cassidian manufactures what it calls TransHospitals for defense, peacekeeping and relief organizations. It is a container- and tent-based system -- with full power, sanitary systems -- for full medical services.

Cassidian has delivered such complete mobile hospital systems to the German Army, Air Force and Navy, to the Singapore Navy, the Spanish Air Force and the Slovenian Army.
