DHS IT award to Force 3

CROFTON, Md., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has jointly named IT solutions company Force 3 and IT integrator Patriot-Comm to its First Source II contract.

First Source II is the department's primary procurement vehicle for information technology equipment and updates, and is exclusively awarded to small businesses -- including historically under-utilized, woman-owned, economically disadvantaged and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.

As a First Source II partner, Force 3 will work with prime contractor Patriot-Comm, a SDVOSB, to provide the department with access to a wide and renewable variety of IT commodities and solutions, including hardware and software.

Force 3 will be the primary provider of Cisco, NetApp, and EMC IT commodities, it said.

"Our position with manufacturers enables us to bring an added dimension of value and support to this contract vehicle," said Mike Greaney, chief revenue officer at Force 3. "We are proud to be working with SDVOSB Patriot-Comm to provide the DHS with streamlined access to the technology products they need to protect our country."

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is for five years, with two one-year options. Its five-year value is $2 billion.
