ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Support for U.S. Air Force medical logistics services by CACI International has been expanded under a new $75 million prime contract.
CACI, which performed its work throughout 49 U.S. states for the Air Force, Army and the Air National Guard, will now perform the logistics services for the U.S. military in Alaska, Japan and Guam.
"CACI's ongoing work for the Air Force's Expeditionary Contingency Medical Materiel Support Services (ECMM) reinforces our position as an industry leader in supporting the operational and IT needs of the federal healthcare logistics community," said John Mengucci, CACI's chief operating officer and president of U.S. operations. "It's a strong vote of confidence in the top-notch people and innovative solutions we provide to fulfill our customers' missions."
The contract has a one-year base performance period and four one-year options.
Under the award, CACI will deliver a range of contingency medical logistics support for forces serving in theater and for deployed Department of Defense and service personnel in various locales. Services will include building and maintaining deployable medical assemblages; fulfilling urgent medical requirements in combat zones; sustaining medical logistics for deployed units and forces; and augmenting medical logistics to meet requirements for natural and man-made events within the United States.
