Raytheon U.K. taps API for ASTOR program support

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. company API Technologies Corp. reports it has competitively won a $3.3 million award from Raytheon U.K. in support of a British military program.

The Ministry of Defense program is called ASTOR (Airborne Stand-off Reconnaissance), an advanced, air-to-ground surveillance system jointly operated by the Royal Air Force and British Army.

API said it will supply computer servers, work stations and network devices under the contract but additional details could not be provided because of "the secure nature of the opportunity."

"Through our Secure Systems and Information Assurance group, the company provides a wide range of advanced technical solutions, including engineering content, program management, equipment certification, and production," said Matthew Richards, senior vice president and managing director, RF2M-UK and SSIA-International for API Technologies Corp.

"We are pleased to leverage this breadth of experience in support of Raytheon U.K. and the mission-critical solutions it delivers."

API Technologies is a provider of RF/microwave, micro-electronics and security solutions.
