ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A prime contract for business IT and command-and-control solutions has been given to CACI International by the U.S. Navy.

The prime award to CACI from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic has a one-year base performance period with a one-year option. It is in the form of a task order under the ITES-2S contract vehicle. It carries a value of $45 million.

"The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic is a vital component of the Navy's unmatched maritime presence and a valued customer of CACI," said John Mengucci, CACI's chief operating officer and president of U.S. Operations.

"We're pleased that the ongoing support we provide with this award will help enable the command to deploy even greater capabilities in the IT and command-and-control arenas."

SSC Atlantic is the Navy's main C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) command for acquisition and lifecycle management of communications and warfare systems.

CACU said under the award, it will support lifecycle development and deployment support capabilities for SSC Atlantic's systems and programs used to deliver data, support decisionmaking, and execute business activities such as financial management and logistics management.
