LINKOPING, Sweden, July 22 (UPI) -- An unidentified country has ordered explosive training artillery rounds from Saab of Sweden.

The contract is worth about $15.27 million. The number of artillery rounds ordered was not disclosed but Saab said deliveries would take place this year and next.

"This order is an endorsement both of Saab and the world-class facility SBDS is developing in Switzerland, which provides products and services for armed forces around the world," said Gorgen Johansson, head of Saab's Dynamics business area.

SBDS stands for Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland, a Saab subsidiary that will carry out work on the order, including the manufacture and delivery of explosive training artillery grenades.

Saab said SBDS will convert live rounds into training rounds.

"The order is in line with our strategy to strengthen and extend our range of services," said Stephan Kocher, head of Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland. "We have a well-proven track record of fulfilling a wide range of service contracts within the field of munitions, the respective components and explosives."
