SAIC tapped for IT support

MCLEAN, Va., July 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity has contracted SAIC for project management services to support clinical research.

The contract, in support of USAMRAA's Enterprise Information Technology Project Management Office (eIT PMO) is a firm fixed-price award with a one-year base period and four one-year options.

If all options are exercised, the awards value would be about $16 million.

The eIT PMO is part of Headquarters, United States Army Medical Research & Materiel Command. It provides essential information technology solutions to support clinical research in the development of the FDA-regulated drugs, vaccines, biologics, and devices. It does so through the use of commercial software packages.

Science Applications International Corp. said that under the contract, it will provide all of the necessary resources and expertise to successfully execute the eIT PMO's mission. Among services to be provided are project and business operations management, requirements management, product development, and database administration.

"We are pleased to continue supporting MRMC (Medical Research & Materiel Command) and its IT systems to ensure they are operating effectively and efficiently," said Steve Comber, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager.
