Fort Campbell helos get Lockheed support

DALLAS, June 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has given Lockheed Martin a maintenance and logistics contract for AH-64, UH-60 and OH-58 aircraft.

The initial funding value of the award -- for transition efforts and program management -- from the U.S. Army Contracting Command is $5 million.

Lockheed Martin said it will lead the Army's Regional Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Central Operations at Fort Campbell, Ky., and will conduct repairs, resets, modifications and additional sustainment efforts for the helicopters.

"We are honored to support the Army's Aviation units at Fort Campbell, ensuring their aircraft are maintained to the highest standards and ready when they need them," said June Shrewsbury, vice president of Technical Services at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.

Fort Campbell is home for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

The performance timeline of the contract and its total monetary value was not disclosed.
