MCLEAN, Va., June 13 (UPI) -- SAIC will provide operations and maintenance services to U.S. Air Force remotely piloted aircraft under a subcontract from Battlespace Flight Services LLC.

The contract to support the service's Air Combat Command aircraft is a single-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle with a base performance period of one year. It includes four one-year options and a six-month extension option.

The value of the award is $95 million if all options are exercised, Science Applications International Corp. said.

Under the subcontract, SAIC will provide O&M maintenance of RPA communications systems, including Fixed Site Satcom Terminal and Satcom Earth Terminal Subsystem ground satellite systems to support Predator, Reaper and Global Hawk operations.

Work will primarily be performed overseas, SAIC said.

Battlespace Flight Services provides the MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft operated by the Air Force.

"We look forward to providing global connectivity to RPA in support of remote split operations for the United States Air Force, United States Navy and other government agencies," said John Fratamico, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager.
