LINKOPING, Sweden, May 15 (UPI) -- Swedish defense company Saab is strengthening its support and services business portfolio by acquiring technical documentation firm TIKAB.

"With this acquisition, we can offer new and existing customers a wider portfolio of services and a complete range of integrated support solutions," said Lars-Erik Wige, senior vice president and head of Saab's Support and Services business area.

"There are clear synergies between TIKAB and Saab's operations in which we can utilize each other's expertise to strengthen the competitiveness of our offering to achieve growth."

Financial and other details of the transaction weren't revealed but Saab said the deal would "have no material effect" on Saab's consolidated statements in 2013.

TIKAB, a Swedish company, produces complete technical documentation to the civil and military market.

"By becoming a part of Saab we foresee good opportunities to leverage Saab's broad market channels and businesses to grow our business," said TIKAB Chairman Borje Olsson.
