The funding is being provided by the U.S. Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical Commercial Satellite Terminal Program under the Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems contract vehicle.
Under the award, the Maryland company will provide the Marines with deployed engineering services for wireless point- to-point link systems and commercialization effort in theater.
WPPL systems provide secure point-to-point and point-to-multipoint, line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight transmission of voice, video and data communications.
TeleCommunication Systems will support technical control facilities and data/security centers and tactical systems.
"In order to remain an elite fighting force, the USMC must not only have secure, reliable communications equipment. They also need knowledgeable and reliable support backing that equipment," said TCS Government Solutions Group President Michael Bristol. "TCS' Deployed Engineering Services personnel have that knowledge and reliability that can help the USMC achieve mission success."
