GENOA, Italy, May 7 (UPI) -- Italian electronics company Selex ES is seeking to expand its presence in Turkey through new partnerships and cooperative agreements.

"In Turkey, we already have several ongoing programs working with all of the main Armed Forces Foundations Companies, both on domestic and international projects," said Fabrizio Giulianini, chief executive officer of Selex ES.

"We are now selecting a number of strategic opportunities to work on with our Turkish partners, addressing the areas of military, emergency and public communications, UAS and advanced sensors in all three domains -- airborne, land and naval."

Giulianini made his comments at Turkey's international defense and security show. IDEF '13.

The company said its focus is to establish strong partnerships to provide solutions for the country's National Emergency and Public network program, enhance collaboration in the areas of infrared detectors and EO sensors, missile seekers and land, airborne and naval radars and unmanned aerial systems.

Selex ES is a recently created company that integrates the capabilities of Selex Galileo, Selex Elsag and Selex Sistemi Integrati. It has a subsidiary in Turkey with headquarters in Ankara.
