The Third Generation Extended Cold Weather Clothing System features seven layers of materials for protection from intense cold weather -- more than minus-40 degrees Fahrenheit. The company's Climashield Apex will be included in the seventh layer parkas and trousers for use in extreme cold weather during static operations.
"We have been working with the tactical requirements of the military for over 30 years, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to provide best-in-class insulation that is manufactured in the U.S.A.," said Matt Schrantz, chief operating officer at Climashield.
"When tested, our insulation sets itself apart from the competition by consistently delivering greater warmth at lighter weights, while also maintaining that same warmth and shape after multiple uses."
Climashield said that under the three-year award it will produce insulation for more than 120,000 GEN III Layer VII parka and trousers annually.
