LAS VEGAS, March 7 (UPI) -- Level D full-flight simulators for Sikorsky Aircraft's military and civil helicopters are in production by U.S. company FlightSafety International.
The eight simulators are for Sikorsky's S-92, S-76 and S-70i platforms. And will expand access to training to Sikorsky customers in the United States, Brazil, Norway and Southeast Asia, the companies said in a statement issued at an industry exhibition in Nevada.
"FlightSafety is a company whose name is synonymous with aerospace excellence and shares Sikorsky's commitment to safety," said David Adler, president of Sikorsky Aerospace Services.
"Our close working relationship ensures that operators benefit from the most up to date, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) approved and FAA certified comprehensive training available today."
Sikorsky plan is expanding its military training services at its training school in Oklahoma and FlightSafety is opening training centers in Brazil, Norway and Southeast Asia.
"Proud to have served as the factory authorized training provider for Sikorsky since 1983, we greatly value the opportunity to support the increasing number of commercial, government, and military organizations worldwide that operate Sikorsky helicopters," said Bruce Whitman, FlightSafety president and chief executive officer.
