LONDON, March 7 (UPI) -- Britain's BAE Systems is touting a radar system capable of detecting an object the size of a tennis ball traveling faster than the speed of sound.
The 3-D radar system is called Artisan and was developed for the British navy's Type 23 frigates.
Already installed on HMS Iron Duke as part of a refit, the Artisan can cut through interference equivalent to 10,000 conflicting mobile phone signals and can simultaneously monitor more than 800 objects at a distance of as much as 124 miles.
