ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- A tool for searching, identifying, monitoring and archiving information on social media sites has been launched by U.S. firm Computer Evidence Specialists.

The aggregation tool is called Prism and was created by a team of former FBI executives, lawyers and investigative analysts.

"With the rise of social media, more and more individuals and organizations are posting publicly available content," CES said. "Within that content lies pertinent information which is useful to organizations.

"Before PRISM, users had to manually comb through multiple social media sites to try and synthesize the available data for information relevant to their needs.

"PRISM offers a single place to pull together all available data, filter out the noise, and make sense of the avalanche of information out there."

CES, which was founded by a former FBI executive, said the system is capable of mapping posts, comparing digital footprints, monitoring profiles and identifying and monitor organizations.
