HERSTAL, Belgium, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Remote weapon stations by Belgium's FN Herstal will be featured on French and Canadian vehicles at the IDEX trade show later this month.
FN Herstal said its deFNder Light equipped RWS with a 7.62 machine gun will be on a Sherpa armored vehicle by France's Renault Trucks Defense. FN Herstal's deFNder RWS with a .50-cal FN M3R machine gun will be on a Scorpion 4x4 vehicle by Streit of Canada.
"The deFNder Remote Weapon Stations can easily be integrated onto any new or existing vehicles or static platforms, and are available with various options -- for example: add-on modular ballistic protection, gyroscopic stabilization, sniper shot detectors, tracking systems, smoke grenade launchers," the company said.
IDEX 2013 begins Feb. 17 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. FN Herstal's wide range of products will also be on display at the company's booth. Among them will be handguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, fire control systems and integrated weapon systems for airborne, land and sea applications.
