WOOD DALE, Ill., Jan. 23 (UPI) -- A provider of airlift services to the U.S. military is renewing its contract for transport of cargo and personnel to West and Central Africa.

The services in support of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and the U.S. Department of Defense Counter Narco-Terrorism Program Office by AAR Airlift Group will involve two aircraft.

The subcontract for the services was issued by Academi, LLC. It will run until the middle of June and carries an estimated value of about $9 million.

"This renewal signals the confidence our dedicated pilots and support teams have earned by providing reliable support in austere environments," said AAR Airlift Group President Randy J. Martinez.

"We are very proud to provide airlift support for the U.S. government and its allies in this region as an integral part of our nation's extended transportation and logistics capability."

The AAR Airlift Group is part of AAR, a global aerospace and defense contractor.
