RESTON, Va., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Critical protective force services at the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge facility will be performed by National Strategic Protective Services LLC.

National Strategic Protective Services is a joint venture of Triple Canopy, Inc. and Securiguard Inc., which provide mission support, security and training services to government agencies and multinational corporations worldwide.

NSPS said it will field trained and qualified personnel for the contracted services for the East Tennessee Technology Park, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Joe L. Evins Federal Building, and the balance of the Oak Ridge Reservation.

"We are honored to be selected to provide essential protective force services for the Department of Energy and will work diligently to enhance security and make every effort to transition former, skilled employees smoothly and effectively," said Triple Canopy Chief Executive Officer Ignacio Balderas.

NSPS said it has begun recruiting personnel for the protective force services contract and that a transition process will soon be in place.
