MARIGNANE, France, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Eurocopter and Finland's Border Guard have completed a deal for two additional AS332e L1 Super Puma helicopters to be delivered in 2015.
The helicopters will be used for maritime search-and-rescue missions. Features include integrated advanced cockpit and automatic flight control systems used on Eurocopter's EC225 helicopter.
Eurocopter said the aircraft will also be equipped for day/night operations, have high-definition, forward-looking infrared radar and a four-axis autopilot.
"This latest acquisition once again demonstrates the AS332's qualities in highly demanding missions and it underscores the Finnish Border Guard continued confidence in the Super Puma as a long-time operator," said Jacques Cardaillac, Eurocopter's head of sales for Northern Europe and Benelux countries.
The new helicopters will bring the number of Eurocopter AS332L1s in operation with the Finnish Border Guard to five. The current three helicopters are being operated by the Border Guard from a base on the southwestern coast of the country.
