Army contracts for base's public services

NORWALK, Conn., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- EMCOR Government Services has been contracted by the U.S. Army to support the Directorate of Public Services at Fort Huachuca in Arizona.

Support services to be provided under the one-year award, which can be extended for four years, includes the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Maintenance of minor roads of the base, as well as grounds maintenance and pest control are covered under the award, which could be worth as much as $42.7 million.

"EMCOR Government Services is pleased to have been selected by the Army to provide a diverse range of services required to support the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Huachuca," said Michael Shelton, chairman and chief executive officer of EMCOR Government Services. "Fort Huachuca is an historical Army post with an important mission and we look forward to being a part of the team."

EMCOR said the contract began Nov. 1.
