URS gets Army O&M contract

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Operations and maintenance services for U.S. Army equipment used by the Department of State overseas will be provided by URS Corp.

The O&M contract, issued by the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Rock Island, Ill., is for one year with two three-month options. It carries a value of $111 million if all options are exercised.

Equipment to be maintained for the Department of State and Office of Security Cooperation-Iraq includes tactical communications systems, the Giraffe radar-based surveillance and air defense command-and-control system, and FLIR Star SAFIRE III sensor systems.

"URS is proud to continue our support to United States Army and Department of State," said Randall A. Wotring, president of Federal Services for URS. "We look forward to serving the State Department, one of our long-term federal sector clients, on this important program."
