MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- SAIC has received a U.S. Army contract for software engineering, sustainment and other support for C4ISR systems.

The multiple award is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle for two years and one option year. Its total value for all 12 awardees is about $7 billion.

Work will specifically be performed for the Army's Software Engineering Center, Communications Electronics Command, which manages software support for the service's deployed command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

Science Applications International Corp. said it will provide through competitively awarded task orders full life-cycle software engineering and sustainment; field support, training and other services -- including logistics, business and enterprise resource planning systems, information technology infrastructure support -- to sustain the operational readiness of fielded systems.

"We look forward to providing the SEC with the finest life-cycle software support and information technology solutions that will enable the Army to sustain warfighting superiority and information dominance across the enterprise," said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
