
CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- A three-year Blanket Purchase Agreement with the U.S. Coast Guard has been given to SCRA Applied R&D to support the WatchKeeper System.
WatchKeeper is a component of the Coast Guard's Interagency Operations Center/Command 21 project and provides a set of software applications that assist users in making informed command-and-control decisions in port security.
SCRA Applied R&D has performed planning, management, analysis, software development, testing, integration support, training support and documentation development in support Coast Guard port security missions in the past.
"The U.S. Coast Guard has committed to delivering and supporting state-of-the-art market platforms and systems that are affordable, efficient and mission-capable," said SCRA Applied R&D President Chris Van Metre.
"SCRA Applied R&D offers domain expertise and capabilities that support these efforts to improve our ports and security.
"The continued confidence the USCG has placed in SCRA Applied R&D is a credit to the team and the excellent value our associates have delivered."
The deal between the company and the Coast Guard carries a value of $3 million.
