Boeing consolidating Huntsville offices

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Boeing announced Wednesday that it's consolidating the physical location of several offices in the Huntsville, Ala., area into a new three-building complex.

The complex, located between the U.S. Army's Redstone Arsenal and the Marshall Space Flight Center, will comprise 363,000 square feet of office space.

Boeing said the first building in will be occupied next spring. Construction of the second and third buildings will begin by the end of this year and be completed in 2014. The company's Jetplex location won't be affected by the move.

"As Boeing begins its 51st year in Alabama, this development agreement allows us to make the most of our facilities to best meet our business needs and those of our customers," said Tony Jones, vice president and Boeing Huntsville site executive.

"Just as Huntsville is supportive of companies such as ours that are important contributors to the community, Boeing is committed to this city's future health. The city of Huntsville, Redstone Arsenal and NASA have validated this plan as being not only right for Boeing and our ability to meet customer commitments but also important for the future economic viability of Huntsville, where many of our employees live and raise their families."
