NEW YORK, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Suspect Detection Systems Inc. of New York reports a private security firm in an unidentified country has ordered its Cogito automated interrogation system.

The number of units ordered was described as "multiple."

Cogito, using proprietary software, emulates an investigator's Modus Operandi by incorporating artificial intelligence techniques and algorithms. Each unit includes biometric and documentation verification features as well as interrogation capabilities.

"The Cogito technology enables conducting hundreds of interrogations without help of professional interrogator-interviewers," the company said.

The units will be used to interrogate employees of a major energy company to prevent and solve cases of industrial espionage.

"The sale proves once again that Cogito can be used to identify individuals with the distinct intent to cause, whether those individuals are known criminals or trusted staff members," said Gil Boosidan, chief executive officer of Suspect Detection Systems Inc.

"I am hopeful that the usage of Cogito technology by a major private sector security firm can aid in the full certification (by the country) of Cogito technology for national security as well."
