Oct. 26, 2012 at 10:54 AM

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Maintenance and repair of U.S. military Mine Resistance Ambush Protected vehicle will continue to be performed in Kuwait by the VSE Corp.

VSE has performed the work at the MRAP Logistics Compound Maintenance Sustainment Facility in Kuwait since 2009.

The new contract -- a firm-fixed price level-of-effort prime contract through the Army Contracting Command-Warren (Mich.) -- expires at the end of December and carries a value of $13.2 million.

VSE said work under the contract will focus on field and sustainment maintenance and repair and upgrade support to return the MRAPs to full operational status.

"We are pleased to be awarded this prime contract to support the Army Contracting Command to meet the operational readiness needs of our servicemen and women in theater," said Federal Group President Donnelle Moten.

"VSE has performed MRAP maintenance and repair work at the Kuwait MSF since 2009, and our customer can be assured we will continue providing the highest quality work as the joint logistics integrator."
