CACI continues Navy port training

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has given CACI International Inc. a $21.5 million task order to continue its comprehensive U.S. Naval Shipyard Training and Education Program.

The task order from the Naval Sea Systems Command -- under the Seaport II Enhanced contract vehicle -- will support U.S. Navy ports and repair facilities throughout the United States as well as in Japan.

It has a three-year period of performance plus two option years.

"The solutions we provide for the Naval Sea Systems Command's Naval Shipyard Training and Education Program are integral to sustaining a viable workforce for our customers," said John Mengucci, CACI chief operating officer and president of U.S. Operations. "This ongoing work is highly important to the nation and leverageable across all of CACI's core market segments."

The Naval Shipyard Training and Education Program is designed to strengthen the Navy's business processes, improve overall performance and assure that fleet assets are more quickly available through the training of shipyard personnel in various functions and tasks.

Training and education provided by CACI includes strategy development, team skills and team building, learning organization and communications.
