BALTIMORE, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- An integrated border monitoring system is being provided to Brazil under a teaming agreement between Northrop Grumman and Flight Technologies Sistemas S/A.

The system will monitor Brazil's borders through an integrated system of land-based radars, communications systems and unmanned air systems.

"Northrop Grumman and Flight Technologies Sistemas have developed C4ISR solutions for some of the world's most challenging environments," said Ed Bush, vice president of Northrop Grumman's C4ISR Networked Systems business unit. "We look forward to putting that expertise to work to help Brazil maintain its border security through the SISFRON (border monitoring) program."

Added Nei Brasil, co-founder and president, Flight Technologies Sistemas: "This agreement with Northrop Grumman will leverage our ability to expand the portfolio of locally developed strategic products and systems, in response to our country's growing demands in the fields of C4ISR, unmanned aerial systems and avionics systems."

Flight Technologies Sistemas S/A provides aeronautics, command, control and intelligence systems to the Brazilian government.
