FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Real-time network visibility, analysis and control tools have been added to the product offerings of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.

The addition is the result of General Dynamics' completion of its cash transaction to acquire Fidelis Security Systems Inc., a privately held concern.

"I'm pleased to have completed our acquisition of Fidelis Security Systems," said Lou Von Thaer, president of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.

"Our enhanced portfolio of products, cyber services and incident response capabilities creates a unique offering in the marketplace. We are now better positioned to help our enterprise and government customers combat advanced threats and protect their networks through real-time situational awareness."

Maryland company Fidelis Security Systems was founded in 2002. Its cybersecurity solutions help prevent network data breaches by providing visibility into the layers of a network, thus exposing malicious content.

Neither General Dynamics nor Fidelity Security Systems disclosed the financial details of the acquisition.
