Accenture picked to bid on State contracts

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. State Department tapped Accenture Federal Services for possible technical support and consulting services for its the Bureau of Consular Affairs.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Development, Modernization, Enhancement contracting vehicle has a one-year base performance period and four one-year options.

In addition to Accenture Federal Systems, eight other companies have received the contract, which supports the State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs' modernization strategy to develop, enhance and maintain technology for processes such as issuing of visas and passports and managing services for U.S. citizens aboard.

The value of the DME contract is $750 million.

"The State Department is taking action to strengthen national security through modern technology, tools and systems," said Amy Tener, who leads Accenture's work with the Department of State.

"This program will improve delivery of services to American citizens living or traveling abroad and will support efficient and secure issuance of passports and visas."
