Roke's EW Mannpack, which provides capabilities to exploit and/or disrupt enemy communications systems, was initially produced as a result of an Urgent Operational Requirement for use in Afghanistan.
Roke said it has been deemed a core electronic surveillance and countermeasures system and the company will provide a full support package for its expanded use.
"Roke was originally selected to supply EW Manpack equipment in response to the MOD's Urgent Operational Requirement for its SEER program (customization of commercial-off-the-shelf products) in Afghanistan," said Gavin O'Connell, Roke's Business Development manager.
"The decision to deploy this system wider and make it a core capability in the British army and Royal Marines is testament to the advantage that it has been delivering our troops.
"As the battlespace in various campaigns across the world fluxes between force-on-force, counterinsurgency and peace support, so the field of operation changes quickly. Dismounted troops, therefore, require something that will provide rapid intelligence gathering."
