HERNDON, Va., July 31 (UPI) -- ITT Exelis has become one of three large contractors selected by the U.S. Air Force to rapidly develop cyber solutions to military program offices and others.

The task-order-based award is for five years and was given by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory. The Agile Cyber Technologies award has a potential value of as much as $300 million.

"The Exelis team is poised to help solve the government's toughest cybersecurity problems through a partnership with AFRL that will benefit both operational customers and the science and technology communities," said David Fastabend, vice president of ITT Exelis Advanced Information Systems business.

"Supporting our national security objectives by providing the right tools and technology to our government remains a top priority."

Task orders given under the ACT contract will support a broad spectrum of services covering the development and fielding of cyber solutions to support customer requirements.
