Sikorsky, INAER to team for new business

LONDON, July 10 (UPI) -- Sikorsky Aerospace Services says it is exploring aircraft maintenance and support opportunities with the Spanish military.

The exploration of future business comes under a new memorandum of understanding signed at the Farnborough Air Show in Britain with INAER, which provides fleet maintenance, repair and overhaul services for commercial and military aircraft.

"This MOU represents the first step in discussing potential maintenance and upgrade capabilities for the Spanish Ministry of Defense, whose Air Force and Navy fleets have a significant number of Sikorsky aircraft," said Frank DiPasquale, SAS vice president of Sales & Strategic Relationships.

"INAER is a Sikorsky approved S-76 Customer Service Center supporting many of our operators in the region. The objective of this MOU is to strengthen and combine our expertise in providing customized solutions to meet the Spanish government's requirements."

INAER, in addition to its maintenance and support systems, is also a major provider of helicopter-borne emergency services in Europe and operates a fleet of Sikorsky helicopters. Among its clients is Spain's Ministry of Defense.
