FALLS CHURCH, Va., July 5 (UPI) -- A task order for support of aircraft and aircraft subsystems used by a U.S. Army Special Operations unit has been given to DynCorp International.

If all options are exercised, the contract would be worth $54.5 million.

"DI has meaningful and extensive experience with this contract and we are honored to once again support the … SOAR-A," said Jim Myles, group vice president, aviation, DynCorp International. "We look forward to utilizing decades of experience with USASOAC and supporting their mission requirements."

The Special Operations Aviation Regiment to be supported is located at Fort Campbell, Ky., home of the 101st Airborne.

Under the task order, DI will provide field and sustainment level maintenance on aircraft, aircraft subsystems, and aviation support systems and logistics.

DynCorp International said the task order had been briefly given to another company but has returned to the company.

Details on the switch were not disclosed.
